What is the Northern Diversity Forum?
The Northern Diversity Forum (NDF) is an initiative by Minorities and Philosophy, the Diversity Reading List, and Philosophy-students from the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. Our main aim is to focus on the philosophical issues surrounding the notions of equality, diversity, and decolonization, as well as issues related to under-representation in the discipline.
The Northern Diversity Forum invites leading researchers to talk about topics such as injustice, feminism, diversity and representation in academia, and how these affect the profession of philosophy as well as academia in general. We aim is to host talks about diversity issues but also to provide a platform for important projects already making an actual difference regarding these issues in academia. The NDF will host three workshops each year, and is the first UK cross-institutional workshop-forum focusing explictly on those issues.
How can I get involved?
The Northern Diversity Forum is a collaborative effort, and we are more than happy to welcome new people on board of our team. If you want to contribute, do get in touch with us!
